Gopalganj Police Arrest Prime Accused In Deadly Attack On Actor Pankaj Tripathi’s Brother

Patna: The Gopalganj Police on Monday arrested the prime accused in the life-threatening attack on Vijendra Nath Tiwari, the elder brother of Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi in Bihar on Sunday.

The accused, identified as Rajesh Sah, was taken into custody following a special operation conducted by the police.

The attack had taken place in Belsand village under the Madhopur police station area in the Barauli block of Bihar’s Gopalganj district, triggering concern due to the victim’s connection with the popular actor’s family.

Following the incident, Gopalganj Superintendent of Police, Vinay Tiwari, formed a Special Investigation Team to trace and arrest the accused.

Acting on Intelligence inputs, the police team apprehended Rajesh Sah.

During preliminary interrogation, investigators found that the attack was linked to an old personal rivalry and a long-standing land dispute.

Police officials stated that Rajesh Sah is being interrogated to identify other individuals who may have been involved in planning or carrying out the attack.

Investigators are examining whether persons from nearby villages, including Mirhatti and adjoining areas, played any role in the incident.

According to the police investigation, Vijendra Nath Tiwari was taking a walk outside his residence after dinner when he was allegedly attacked with sticks and sharp-edged weapons.

An FIR has been registered at the Madhopur police station under several serious and non-bailable sections, including charges related to attempted murder.

Following the arrest, police have intensified efforts to recover the weapons allegedly used in the attack.

A special team led by SDPO-2 Rajesh Kumar is conducting raids at various locations based on information obtained during the interrogation.

Vijendra Nath Tiwari is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital in Patna.

According to an official, his condition is stable, and he is reported to be out of danger.

Police authorities have stated that efforts are underway to complete the investigation quickly and file the necessary charges before the court.

SP Vinay Tiwari has said that the case will be pursued through a speedy trial process to ensure timely justice for the victim and his family.
