‘Major Victory For Unity Of Youth Power’: Sharad Pawar On Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation

Mumbai: Opposition parties in Maharashtra on Saturday claimed that the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is “major victory of the youth power in the country”.

The NCP-SP President and former Union Minister Sharad Pawar said: “The struggle and determination shown by the youth over 28 consecutive days at Jantar Mantar in Delhi in the NEET paper leak case is truly commendable. In response to the insistent demand of the protesters, the Union Education Minister has finally resigned today. This fight, which stood firmly against oppression without fear and forced the government to accept moral responsibility against injustice, is a symbol of the power of democracy. This is a major victory for the unity of the youth power in the country.”

The NCP-SP President added, “Also, heartfelt thanks to all the MPs of the opposition parties for the way in which their leading leaders provided moral and Parliamentary support to the youth of the country. I certainly feel compelled to state that the democracy in the country has triumphed, and the credit for that undoubtedly goes to the young generation of the country.”

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in his post on social media platform X said, “Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation; Modi-Shah are not invincible. They too will go!”

The Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar said that never before had any Prime Minister been compelled to release a video in such a manner to defend themselves.

“A massive uproar is being made over the hundreds of millions of reach garnered by the recently released video. But this reach is not a reflection of the people’s love; it is artificial hype created by the rented trolls of the BJP’s IT cell,” he added.

“If you glance at social media today, 95 per cent of people can be seen speaking out against Narendra Modi and the BJP government. Anger is being expressed nationwide over issues like unemployment, paper leaks, inflation, and the future of the youth. Never before had such a massive number of question marks been raised on social media about the image of any Prime Minister, as are being raised today regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image. That is why an attempt is being made to change the atmosphere through these rented trolls. But propaganda does not alter reality. The youth of the country have now awakened. The very youth whose trust brought this power will hold it accountable through democratic means. The verdict of the people is greater than that of any IT cell,” Wadettiwar remarked.

NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar noted: “After 12 years of being intoxicated with arrogance, the Union government has finally been bowed down by the students’ success. The resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is entirely the success of students across the country. They endured beatings, but the students successfully accomplished Mission Resignation. Heartfelt congratulations to all students, youth, and everyone who supported this movement across the nation on this success.”

“If injustice is done to ordinary people in the country, no matter how arrogant the government may be, it can be made to bow down through unity—this movement has demonstrated that. Many in power ridiculed this movement by calling it terrorist, accused it of receiving help from foreign powers; this resignation has delivered a resounding slap to the ears of all such people. From now on, the government will have to listen not to ‘Mann Ki Baat’ but to ‘Jan Ki Baat’,” he said.

According to Maharashtra Congress Chief Harshwardhan Sapkal, “Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is the first step. Full victory is still pending.”

“Considering Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation as a victory for democracy would be premature. Over the past 10 years, the way paper leaks have been orchestrated by sacrificing quality, fostering corruption, and imposing a specific ideology is a grave betrayal of the honest students of the country. Resignation alone does not absolve sins: Until the masterminds and culprits who toyed with the futures of millions of students face stringent punishment, this fight will not end,” Sapkal declared.

NCP-SP Working President and MP Supriya Sule said that the Education Minister’s resignation is a major victory for the unity of the youth power in the country.

Supriya Sule reposted Sharad Pawar’s social media post on her official X account, saying: “Heartfelt thanks to all the MPs of the opposition parties for the way in which the leading leaders of the opposition parties provided moral and parliamentary support to the youth of the country. I certainly feel compelled to state that the democracy in the country has triumphed, and the credit for that undoubtedly goes to the young generation of the country.”
