Navsari: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s newly built ‘Namo Kamalam’ office in Navsari district, with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel describing the occasion as a historic moment for the district.
Patel, in a post on social media platform X, said the inauguration of the modern BJP office by PM Modi at Navsari marked an important occasion for South Gujarat.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharing a spontaneous, heartwarming walk with Navsari’s young stars is the visual that will instantly make your day,” CM Patel noted in his X post, referring to the Prime Minister’s interaction with children during his visit.
“Rhythm of the drums, pride in the heart, and the Tricolour held high!” the Chief Minister said, adding that the children’s “boundless energy and patriotism” reflected what he described as the “truly unstoppable spirit of New India”.
The inauguration formed part of PM Modi’s visit to Gujarat on Tuesday, during which he travelled to Vadodara and Navsari before proceeding to Mumbai.
His Gujarat visit also included the ‘NaMo 4 Viksit Bharat’ programme in Vadodara and the dedication of major infrastructure projects worth more than Rs 35,000 crore, including sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.
The new Namo Kamalam office, located near the National Highway grid in Navsari, has been presented as a technology-enabled organisational facility.
Reports said the building covers around 40,000 square feet and incorporates advanced digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence-based facilities.
It is being projected as the first BJP organisational office in the country equipped with such AI facilities.
The inauguration followed an elaborate welcome for the Prime Minister, with traditional musical performances and participation by women carrying ceremonial kalash.
The programme was also streamed across villages in the district, allowing residents to watch the event through large digital screens.
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the office, PM Modi praised BJP workers in Navsari for continuing their organisational and public-service activities despite the party’s longstanding electoral support in the district.
He said the party’s workers had not become complacent or “intoxicated with power” after receiving public support over several years.
“After receiving so much love for so many years, they have still firmly followed the path of service,” he added.
He also referred to Navsari’s electoral record, recalling that voters in the district had elected BJP leader and Union Minister C.R. Paatil with the highest victory margin in the country in 2019.
Much of his address focused on grassroots service, including cleanliness drives, efforts towards making Navsari free of malnutrition and tuberculosis, and the implementation of welfare schemes.
He urged workers to ensure that the new office became a point of contact for citizens rather than merely a party building.
“Every citizen has a right over us here, and we are their servants,” he said.
He said the office should become “a refuge for those in distress” and a place from which “a ray of hope against injustice” could emerge.
The Prime Minister also recalled his years as Gujarat Chief Minister, including his visits to villages to encourage parents to educate their daughters.
He recounted meeting women years later who had attended school after he had personally encouraged their families to send them for education.
PM Modi separately spoke about ‘PMSVANidhi’ scheme and the difficulties faced by street vendors who traditionally depended on informal lenders for working capital.
The visit to Navsari thus combined the inauguration of the new BJP organisational facility with PM Modi’s broader appeal for grassroots public service.
